NFL Picks - Week 9
It's always been said that the NFL is a week-to-week league. It wasn't more evident than last week. With the Rams shocking the Saints and Patriots falling to the Steelers, pundits are now (unnecessarily) shifting the power around. This week will probably be the same needless panic when all is said and done. Let's see what we have this week:
(Winners in bold.)
Dolphins at Chiefs
The Dolphins don't want to win. I'm convinced of it. The Chiefs have too much momentum to be stopped by such a weak match-up.
Seahawks at Cowboys
Another game that's too easy to pick. Dallas moves closer to the top of the crazy NFC East.
Buccaneers at Saints
Do you think the Saints will let the Buccaneers come to their house to show them up after being embarrassed by the lowly Rams? I certainly don't think so.
49ers at Redskins
The Redskins season is probably going down the toilet after a hot start. The 49ers will probably use this as a tune-up for their upcoming game.
Jets at Bills
I've made it clear that I'm not a huge fan of the Jets, but they keep winning when they need to. I have to go with my gut here.
Browns at Texans
Two very disappointing teams going at it on Sunday. Texans get the win and move one step closer to ANOTHER season in which they miss the playoffs.
Falcons at Colts
It's such a sad state of affairs when one player manages your team. Peyton Manning ain't coming back no time soon and neither are the wins.
Bengals at Titans
Where is Chris Johnson? Hopefully, the Titans and the rest of the league learned a valuable lesson; if a running back ever wants to hold out; let him. Regardless, I think the Bengals stumble here.
Broncos at Raiders
Tebowing is a short-lived fad where people mockingly kneel down and say a prayer (like Tim Tebow, I guess). Winning also seems to be a short-lived fad in Denver.
Giants at Patriots
It's a sexy upset pick, but not one that I'm making. Very rarely do the Patriots lose back-to-back games; let alone a games at home. It seems like I never pick them to lose, but I can't, in good conscience, pick against them now.
Packers at Chargers
Speaking of never picking against a team; there is a very legitimate chance that Green Bay goes undefeated. The Chargers , on the other hand, are a fumbling mess of a team at the moment.
Rams at Cardinals
Yuck. Somebody has to win, though.
Ravens at Steelers
My fan bias makes this pick very hard to make, at times. For example, am I picking the Steelers because I did in week 1 and they lost to the Ravens? Or am I a legitimate believer? I don't know. I really don't.
Bears at Eagles
Both teams are hot right now. The Eagles, though, are looking more and more like the team we thought they would be from the get-go.
This season is getting rough on me. Maybe a cake week like this one will help right the ship.
